Maritime Traffic Statistics for the Strait of Hormuz Revealed

Over the past four days, only 124 cargo vessels have transited the Strait of Hormuz. Kpler, a shipping research company that analyzes analytical data, reports that the number of vessels passing through the strait over this four-day period has returned to almost the same level as the pre-conflict period in Iran.

According to sea-news.az the statistics from Kpler include tankers, dry bulk carriers, as well as specialized vessels carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). However, the movement of container ships was not included in these statistics.

Recall that earlier, the Japanese shipping giant NYK Line announced that it could take several months for maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz to fully return to pre-war normal levels, due to the necessity of clearing approximately 80 mines remaining in the area. However, the latest figures show that cargo flow in the strait is recovering faster than expected.
