“Dostluq” Tanker Anchors at Turkmenbashi Port – VIDEO

The “Dostluq” oil tanker, built at the Baku Shipyard and presented as a gift from Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan, has reached the port. A grand celebratory event and concert program were organized at the port to mark the arrival of the vessel and its crew, attended by hundreds of people, including officials, port service employees, and youth.

According to sea-news.az this modern vessel, which was presented during the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, to Baku, has become a new symbol of economic and cultural ties between the two countries.

The tanker, which fully meets modern maritime safety and environmental standards, has the following key specifications:

  • Length: 141 meters
  • Beam (Width): 17 meters
  • Deadweight Capacity: Approximately 8,000 tons

The name of the vessel symbolizes both the relations between the two nations and the joint hydrocarbon field of the same name in the Caspian Sea. Designed for the transportation of crude oil and petroleum products, the tanker will begin its first commercial voyages in the coming days, contributing to the expansion of the region’s transport and transit corridors.
