Iran has issued a sharp warning regarding vessels that deviate from established maritime corridors. According to Iran’s Gulf Security Administration, Tehran will not guarantee the safe passage of any vessel operating outside designated routes.
According to sea-news.az official Tehran declared that the responsibility for all negative consequences resulting from deviating from the established routes will fall entirely on shipowners, captains, or the operators managing the vessel.
As a reminder, this warning coincides with a period of recent attacks on foreign cargo ships in the Strait of Hormuz and rising tensions over maritime security between the US and Iran in the region.
