Iran will not apply transit fees for vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz over the next 60 days.

According to sea-news.az Pakistans Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stated this in an interview with Saudi Arabia’s “Al Arabiya” television channel.

“No transit fees will be charged in the Strait of Hormuz during the 60-day period,” the minister said, emphasizing that the situation in the strait must be restored to its pre-war status. The Pakistani minister added that China also supports ensuring free passage for vessels in both directions through the Strait of Hormuz without any fees being applied.

It is worth recalling that earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar announced the start of negotiations between the US and Iranian delegations in Switzerland, with the participation of representatives from Qatar and Pakistan. According to the ministry, the parties have formed technical working groups with the aim of drafting a final agreement.
