Notable Situation in the UK Navy

All of the United Kingdoms combat-ready nuclear submarines are currently out of operational service due to maintenance and repair work.

According to sea-news.az five Astute-class nuclear submarines of the Royal Navy are currently docked at bases awaiting technical servicing. The sixth submarine of the same class, which was recently introduced into service, has also not yet reached full operational readiness.

The UK future strategic nuclear fleet will be based on the new Dreadnought-class submarines, but their entry into service is still expected to take several years.

Previously, Royal Navy First Sea Lord Admiral Gwyn Jenkins stated that approximately one-third of the Navys operational activity is currently focused on missions related to the “Russian threat,” which remains one of the service’s key priorities.
