A motorized inflatable boat carrying irregular migrants was intercepted by the Turkish Coast Guard in the Aegean Sea near Çanakkale province, Türkiye.
The incident occurred off the coast of Ayvacık district. The boat was detected and stopped after being identified by a mobile radar system operated by the Coast Guard Command.
A total of 31 migrants attempting to cross illegally into Europe were on board. They were reported to be citizens of Afghanistan and Azerbaijan, including 9 children.
The detained individuals were handed over to the relevant authorities by the Coast Guard Command for further processing.
