The U.S. Navy has deployed two missile destroyers equipped with laser weapon systems to the Arabian Sea near southeastern Iran.
According to The War Zone, citing a U.S. Navy representative, the destroyers USS Spruance and USS John Finn, operating within the U.S. Central Command’s area of responsibility, are fitted with the ODIN (Optical Dazzling Interdictor, Navy) laser system.
The system is designed to disrupt the control and surveillance capabilities of attack drones, as well as to disable the sensors and camera systems of enemy ships, submarines, and aircraft.
