The number of commercial vessels redirected by U.S. forces since the start of the naval blockade against Iran has reached 78, according to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) on the social media platform X.
As part of the blockade enforcement, 78 commercial ships have been diverted to alternative routes, while four vessels have reportedly been disabled.
CENTCOM stated that the naval blockade against Iran has been in place since April 13 and is aimed at monitoring the movement of ships entering and leaving Iranian ports.
Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, strongly criticized U.S. activities in the region, stating that such actions effectively amount to piracy and terrorism.
