The engine room simulator model developed by Kongsberg Maritime based on the “Aurora” class flagship vessel operated by Höegh Autoliners has received a compliance certificate from DNV.

According to Seanews.az, following a full audit and demonstration, the international approval confirms that the simulator meets DNV maritime standards and offers high accuracy for advanced training programs.

The “Aurora” class vessels, with a capacity of 9,100 cars, are designed with a net-zero emissions target by 2040 and are prepared for operation using alternative fuels such as ammonia.

Kongsberg Maritime serves as the key technology partner for these vessels, contributing to automation systems, propulsion optimization, and digital solutions.

The inclusion of the new simulator in the standard portfolio will allow maritime crews to train more effectively on these complex and environmentally advanced systems before real-world operations.

Following certification, the “Höegh Aurora” model can now be deployed in training centers worldwide.
