On May 8, 2026, the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts (AzSFA) hosted an award ceremony honoring the authors of the official emblem and logo reflecting the international reputation, strategic goals, and modern corporate identity of the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy (ASMA).
The event was attended by Acting Rector of ASMA Eldar Gojayev, members of the Academy’s delegation, Rector of AzSFA and People’s Artist Professor Natiq Aliyev, vice-rectors, Director of the College of Arts Elshad Ahmadov, faculty members, and students who participated in the competition.
Opening the ceremony, Natiq Aliyev welcomed the guests and expressed satisfaction with the involvement of AzSFA students in shaping ASMA’s visual identity. He emphasized that such creative collaborations make an important contribution to the professional development of young people and provide valuable practical experience.
In his speech, Eldar Gojayev thanked the leadership of AzSFA, as well as the teachers and students involved in the project. He noted that students approached the competition with great responsibility and creativity, with more than 70 sketch designs submitted overall. Considering the high quality of the works, new logos were selected for ASMA’s faculties and the Azerbaijan Maritime College, and officially registered with the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
At the end of his speech, Eldar Gojayev announced the winners and presented diplomas to them. Second-year students of the Faculty of Architecture and Design, Afshan Shamizade and Aynur Jabrayilova, won first and second places respectively, while third-year Graphic Design student Jala Taghiyeva from the College of Arts received third place.
All participants in the competition were also awarded certificates.
The event continued with a visit to an exhibition featuring works created by the Academy’s professors and students.
