“The commissioning of the new vessel and its first voyage to Azerbaijan demonstrate the close cooperation between our two brotherly states in the field of transport and logistics. We intend to further develop this cooperation.”

These remarks were made by Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Gurbanmammed Elyasov, during the welcoming ceremony for the vessel Gadamly at the Baku International Sea Trade Port.

The ambassador stated that the ship was built at Turkmenistan’s Balkan shipyard in cooperation with South Korean specialists.

According to him, Gadamly will be used not only for transportation between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, but also for international transit cargo operations:

“Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan are important countries located along the Middle Corridor and play a significant role in the development of this route. Another cargo vessel built in Turkmenistan is expected to enter service in the coming months and will also be involved in transit transportation.”

Gurbanmammed Elyasov added that cooperation between the two countries extends beyond the transport sector:

“Development is being observed in all areas. This progress is based on the pragmatic policies of the presidents of both countries, and these policies serve the interests of our peoples.”
