US military forces have redirected more than 60 commercial vessels since the start of Iran’s maritime blockade, while four ships have reportedly been struck.

The statement was published by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) on the social media platform X.

“More than 20 US vessels are enforcing the blockade against Iran. CENTCOM forces have redirected 61 commercial ships and disabled four vessels to ensure compliance,” the statement said.

US Central Command also stated that it intends to block the movement of all ships heading to Iranian ports, as well as vessels attempting to leave Iran’s shores.
