Iran’s Armed Forces have reportedly fired warning shots at U.S. Navy vessels attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Iran’s state television, citing official sources, the warning was issued after initial calls were allegedly ignored. It is reported that warning fire using cruise missiles was directed near U.S. destroyers, while unmanned aerial vehicles were also deployed.
Earlier, Iran’s Fars news agency had reported similar warning measures taken against a U.S. military vessel attempting to pass through the strait.
Further details of the incident and official responses from both sides are still being clarified.
