A series of awareness-raising events has been organized by the State Service for Control over Small-Sized Vessels and Rescue on Waters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in order to educate small vessel users on relevant safety regulations.
The latest events, held under the theme “Safe operation of small-sized vessels,” were organized in the garden residential area of Gum Island in Surakhani district of Baku, in Hasanabad settlement of Neftchala district, in Gamishoba village of Astara district, in Tikanoba village of Khachmaz district, as well as on the section of the Mingachevir Reservoir shoreline falling within Samukh district.
During the events, detailed information was provided to small vessel users, including fishing entities engaged in the commercial harvesting of fish and other aquatic bioresources, regarding the equipment required for such vessels.
In addition, the existing technical supervision requirements for small vessels were explained, and attention was drawn to the importance of having these watercraft undergo technical inspection in accordance with the legislation, as well as obtaining the relevant licenses required for operating rights.
At the same time, small vessel operators were also informed about the rules for using collective and personal rescue equipment, as well as navigation devices.
At the end of the events, participants were distributed informational brochures on small vessel equipment and safe operating rules.
