First LNG transit through Hormuz after two months

According to vessel tracking data, an LNG tanker named “Mubaraz,” which loaded cargo in early March at Das Island in the United Arab Emirates, has passed through the blockade and reached the southern coast of India.

Reports indicate that after completing loading in early March, the tanker remained in standby mode in the Gulf for some time. On March 31, it stopped transmitting its transponder signals.

The tanker, which remained outside radar surveillance for approximately four weeks, reappeared on April 27 near the western coast of India, confirming it had reached safe waters.

The vessel is currently en route to a terminal in China, with the cargo expected to arrive at its destination on May 15.

It is noted that in high-risk areas such as the Strait of Hormuz, switching off transponders to avoid tracking or potential interference has already become a standard crisis procedure.
