A meeting held at ASCO with V.Group’s Director of sustainability and decarbonisation

A meeting was held between ASCO Chairman Rauf Valiyev and Matt Dunlop, Director of Sustainability and Decarbonization at V.Group, who is visiting our country as part of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

During the meeting, Rauf Valiyev provided detailed information to the guest about ASCO’s decarbonization initiatives, particularly its activities in reducing carbon footprints in line with global standards, as well as its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policies.

Matt Dunlop expressed his high regard for the prospects of cooperation between ASCO and V.Group in the field of green shipping policies. He emphasized the importance of sustainable development in the maritime sector and underlined the significance of implementing joint projects for environmental protection.

It was noted during the discussions that the strategic partnership and exchange of experience between ASCO and V.Group not only bring significant benefits to both parties but also contribute to the development of shipping on a global scale.

Following the meeting, the guest visited the Surakhani Ship Museum and familiarized himself with unique exhibits reflecting the history of Azerbaijani and global shipping. Matt Dunlop expressed his satisfaction with visiting the world’s first tanker museum and shared his positive impressions in the museum’s guestbook.
