A group of eco-journalists from Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and the United Kingdom visited the Port of Baku. Eugene Seah, COO of the Port of Baku, informed the journalists about the port’s history, projects, infrastructure, current plans to reduce carbon emissions to zero by 2035 and in particular, as the first eco-port of the Caspian region, the Green Port concept, as well as the port joining the UN Global Compact from 2022. The journalists also got acquainted the terminals of the port, were given information and their questions were answered. The journalists in questions also visited the eco-park, which was built in the Alat settlement on the initiative of the Port of Baku.

It should be noted that the purpose of the visit of the journalists to Port of Baku and Azerbaijan in connection with COP29 Azerbaijan was to emphasize the positive contribution of the port, which plays the role of a bridge on the East-West and North-South international transport corridors and has received the status of the Green Port, to the green economy, which is important for the world today.
