Russian and Chinese ships are not in danger in the Red Sea, Mohammed al-Bahiti, a member of the Politburo of the Ansar Allah (Houthis) group operating in Yemen, said in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper, Report informs.

“As for all other countries, including Russia and China, nothing threatens their shipping in the region. Moreover, we are ready to ensure the safety of the passage of their ships in the Red Sea,” he said, commenting on the information that the Houthis attacked the tanker with Russian oil.

He added that the group doesn’t pursue the goal of capturing or sinking ships in the Red Sea. Its goal is to increase economic costs for Israel, he noted.

He also said that the Ansar Allah group is ready for peace, but the US and the UK need to stop attacks on Yemen, stop the war in the Gaza Strip and ensure an uninterrupted flow of medicine, fuel and food.
