Turkic Speaking Countries Badminton Tournament dedicated to the 100th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev has been concluded.

Badminton players representing Azerbaijan, Turkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan determined the winners in 5 categories in the competition held at Shamakhi Sports Olympic Complex.

In the individual competition of male badminton players our badminton player Diki Pangestu won the gold medal of the tournament by beating Emre Lale (Turkiye) 2:1 in the final match, which took place in a tense and interesting fight.

In the individual competition of female badminton players, Özge Bayrak, the representative of Turkey, won both sets against our athlete Era Maftuhaya. In the doubles competition of men’s badminton players, the tandem of Serhat Salim-Yusuf Ramazan (Turkiye) won against the pair of Diki Pangestu-Muhammed Gaddafi with a score of 2:1 (20-22, 24-22, 22-20).

In the women’s badminton doubles competition, Turkish representatives Ilayda Nur-Sare Ece won the gold medal by defeating Aisha Zumabek-Nargiza Rakhmatullayeva (Kazakhstan) in both sets in the final.

In the mixed doubles category, our badminton players Muhammed Kadafi-Era Maftuha defeated Bugra Aktaş-Sinem Yıldız (Turkiye) tandem 2:0 (21-19, 21-18) in a decisive match.
