Position: Chief Designer – Piping
Company Information:In March 2015 the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and KBR announced an agreement to establish a new engineering and support Services Company in Azerbaijan, SOCAR-KBR LLC. This Company provides design, engineering, technical, procurement, construction supervision and project management services for projects across the upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas sectors in Azerbaijan. The key objective of this strong partnership is to create a world class Azerbaijan-based EPCM services company that will utilize the strengths of both organizations and deliver top quality results by developing and promoting Azerbaijani national content. The company has a long-term commitment from both organizations.Job responsibilities:· Lead a team of multiple groups of piping designers. · Lead technical reviews of plot plans and equipment layout. · Lead technical presentation to clients and their representatives. · Provide direct oversight and control of a team of layout and piping designers responsible for developing the onshore and offshore facilities. · Provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers. · Review and approve discipline work plan. · Review and approve basis of design. · Review and approve workhours estimate. · Provide technical leadership and guidance to the project team. · Responsible for design integrity of piping scope, performance of assigned staff, on-schedule delivery of the work within allocated budget. · Coaching, mentoring and training the young designers. · Development of piping designers’ team to deliver word scale offshore/ onshore projects.Key attributes / skills / experience:· Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum 25 years’ experience in conceptual designs, FEED and Detailed Engineering of plants and facilities in the oil & gas, hydrocarbon, petroleum refinery, offshore and/or infrastructure industries. · Direct experience of managing teams and have a proven track record of working to defined schedules and budgets. · Industry recognized engineering and design qualification(s) · Hands on experience in the design and layout of offshore and onshore facilities in the oil and gas industry. · Excellent 3D CAD Computer skills preferably with Intergraph E3D/ PDMS and 2D skills with Micro station and AutoCAD. · Experience of construction of offshore and onshore hook up and completions activities is benefit. · Proven record of coaching and development of team of designers/ engineers.CVs to be submitted to: [email protected] (Please indicate the position “Chief Designer – Piping” in the subject line of the e-mail).
