Speaking today at the fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia in Dushanbe, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov spoke in favor of creating an Energy Dialogue of Central Asian countries.  TDH reported this on Thursday.

As Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, energy is a key component of the economy of the Central Asian states.  Currently, the region is witnessing the process of forming political, legal and economic conditions for a sustainable energy partnership, focused both on meeting intraregional demand and on accessing world markets through international transit corridors.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan is ready to supply its natural gas and electricity to the countries of Central Asia and through their territories to foreign markets on mutually beneficial terms.

The head of Turkmenistan said that he considers it possible to consider this proposal from the point of view of establishing long-term cooperation between our states.

In this regard, it seems appropriate to create a new form of five-sided interaction – the Energy Dialogue of Central Asian countries,” said the President of Turkmenistan.
