“Port of Baku” team won a bronze medal at the Interclub European Championship held in Oviedo, Spain, and signed a historic first! Our team, consisting of Agil Gabilov, Narmin Huseynova, Hajar Nuriyeva, Era Maftuha, Muhammad Kadafi and Diki Pangestu, met with “Rekriativo” (Spain) and “Balozi” (Latvia) clubs in the group stage. In the first match, our team lost to the representative of Spain with a score of 1:4 and won the second match against the Latvian club with the same score (4:1) and advanced to the 1/4 finals of the Inter-Club European Championship. A
t this stage, “Port of Baku” met with the Portuguese “Lagoense” club, and at the end of the intense and interesting 5 sets, won a 3:2 victory and advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament and secured the bronze medal! In the debut season, our team lost to the Italian “Matex Marabadminton” club, the winner of the Interclub European Championship, with a score of 0:3.
