The Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland and the Port of Gdansk Authority made an official cooperation visit to the Port of Baku to sign the Letter of Intent for expanding the partnership areas

The Polish delegation led by Mr. Marek Gróbarczyk, Secretary of State, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland, alongside Mr. Łukasz Greinke, President of the Board of the Port Gdańsk Authority, as well as officials from the two organizations from Poland traveled to Azerbaijan on 25-26 July 2022.

In the framework of travel program, on 25 July 2022, the Polish delegation had an official meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transportation of the Republic of Azerbaijan. During the meeting, the Port of Gdansk Authority and the Port of Baku signed the Letter of Intent for cooperation in port development and operation, modern logistics services, intermodal transport, intelligent port construction, green and low-carbon solutions, exchange know-how techniques and best experiences.

On 25 July 2022 the delegation of Poland made a short study tour to the Port of Baku to discuss possibilities for increasing cargo volume in East-West routes via the Middle Corridor by utilizing full capacity of both ports. It was agreed that the inked Letter of Intent will be an important basis in further development of existing cooperation between the ports in order to strengthen regional connectivity and intensify the cargo flow through new alternative transportation routes to connect Asia to Europe.
