The carrying capacity of the ships shown in the photos varied from 500 to 800 tons, and the speed was 5-6 knots. Due to the small hatch covers of these dry cargo ships, manual labor was used in the process of shipment. These ships mainly transported dried fruits, fabrics, animal skins, henna, rice, and other similar cargoes.
The port of Baku, which has an ancient history, has come a long way. Today it is one of the most modern ports in the region and, for the first time in the Caucasus, achieved Green Port status.
