The Port of Baku’s delegation attended the 17th AIVP World Conference Cities & Ports on May 11 -13, 2022 at Tangier City in Morocco

The delegation of the Port of Baku led by Dr Taleh Ziyadov Director-General of the Port of Baku joined the prestigious AIVP (The Worldwide Network of Port Cities) conference to participate in discussions around the theme INSPIRING BLUE FUTURES.

During the event Dr Ziyadov had a separate meeting with the President of the AIVP Mr Edouard Philippe. The convivial meeting was an excellent opportunity to discuss the existing collaboration areas and enhancing strategic relationships between the Port of Baku and AIVP.

The leading global gathering of port cities is aimed at enabling the ports to forge strong contacts and leverage financial sources to reduce their emissions and shift their consumption to renewable energy sources to minimize their environmental footprints.

The Port of Baku is the first EcoPort in the region to develop a zero emissions 2035 Climate Change Action Plan recognized by the ESPO. The Port of Baku is looking forward to strengthening its multilateral cooperation around the world and engaging international organizations to jointly realize the sustainable development initiatives in mitigating climate change impacts, reducing air, water, and land pollution, and ensuring a resilient economic future in the region.
