Position: QC Inspector
Job Description:
- Understand and Comply with BOS Shelf QHSE System & Policies.
- Strictly follow instructions from his / her line Supervisor.
- Ensure the correct implementation of the approved Inspection Test Plan.
- Monitor and record the transfer of all the unique material identifiers to ensure material traceability where required.
- Monitors and record welding parameters and consumables during installation / construction activities.
- Monitor procedure qualification and welder’s qualifications.
- Checks and confirms the availability and suitability of the filler material, preheating equipment, welding sets, heat treatment equipment and visually inspects all weld preps / Records the extent of all repairs made by welders.
- Performs pipe Fit-Up check, ensuring that all installed pipe/fittings are to the correct specification and that the material is in accordance with the specified Material Traceability requirements.
- Carry out visual inspections and raise reports.
- Completes daily inspection reports.
- Report fit-up or welding anomalies to the QC Engineer.
- Ensure that all Welding, Heat Treatment, any hardness testing, Inspection and Non-destructive testing are in compliance with the relevant codes and specifications.
- Visually examine work in progress and monitors repair procedures.
- Ensures all equipment and tooling is strictly operated in accordance with Company Policy / Manufacturers’ Instructions.
- Performs daily checks of workshop equipment in use – Calibration Certificates and fit / compliant for use
- Completes all reporting in a timely manor
- Checks that work is being performed using current approved drawings, specifications and procedures.
- Ensures that all items (structural / piping) are released from workshop with IRC
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Certification in quality control is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
- Good math and technical skills.
- Strong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques.
