Job Title: Material Handler

Purpose

The Material Handler will handle all internal material movement within the SDS work site including receival and dispatch of equipment from/to customers. The Material Handler will support development, planning and execution of safe lifting operations and lifting equipment maintenance, examination and testing at the SDS site. Ensuring timely delivery of services, equipment and spares from the SDS work site,

Accountabilities

  • Coordinate and Manage Material Movement and Lifting & Maintenance operations and various day to day facility activities in line with project delivery.
  • Liaise across Departments to support development, implementation and execution of safe Lifting Operations.
  • Liaise with respective responsible Managers to support development of Lifting Plans and Risk Assessments for “Routine”, “Non-Routine” / “Simple” and “Non-Routine” / “Complicated” Lifting Operations as detailed in Operational Safety Procedures
  • Must have good understanding of applicable Working Procedures, International Standards and Safe practices pertaining to lifting equipment and cranes.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of rigging and lifting services and in compliance with Contract requirements, HMH Policy & Procedures and local authority requirements.
  • Ensure Planned Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) activities for Lifting Equipment are planned and executed across the Asset.
  • Ensure all rigging and lifting activities comply with Lifting Policy & Procedures, Permit to Work Systems (PTW) and full commitment to safe work practices.
  • Receives instruction from and reports to the respective Supervisor or his delegate.
  • Read and understand lifting equipment load chart with reference to the lifting plan.
  • Responsible for receiving, storing and shipping of materials (Tools, Equipment, Spares) to verifying both quality and quantity.
  • Actively participate in all HSE activities including meetings, site inspections, safety concern reporting, hazard hunts, stop work program etc.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other machinery to move material and equipment, or signals machine operators to move materials/equipment onto and off trucks.
  • Perform other job specific related duties as assigned by Manager.

Deliveries

  • HSSE input including HSSE observation cards and participation in all HMH HSSE related strategies and initiatives
  • Timely execution and coordination of material movement and lifting activities in line with project and customer requirements
  • Assist in suppling documentation according to HMH standard and project-requirements

Participation

  • HSSEQ meetings and emergency drills
  • Internal/Customer meetings as requested
  • Improvement of work processes
  • Job/project meetings as required

Authority

  • Ensure Permit to Work process is followed prior to commencement of any lifting operations including 3rd party lifting operations
  • Stop products not delivered in accordance with HMH quality standards & certification requirements
  • Stop any unsafe work or acts immediately

Competence Requirements

  • Business Administration or Engineering Degree
  • Over 3 years of Experience in Heavy/Critical Lifts in Oil&Gas Industry.
  • Experience in Subsea and Capital Drilling equipment (e.g. Diverter, Risers, Wellhead systems)
  • Level-3 Rigging & Lifting certified candidates is preferred.
  • Able to perform Analytical Calculations and prepare Lift Plans and Safety Risk Assessment.
  • Knowledge of SDS equipment or experience on equipment from other companies in the oil & gas industry
  • Knowledge of logistics and shipping
  • Experience in customer relations
  • Organized and focused on quality, cost and timely delivery
  • Competent with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Proficient in written and reading comprehension of Azeri and English
  • Excellent verbal communication skills               
  • Ability to work as an individual and as part of a team
  • Ability to focus on and bring to conclusion to multiple tasks
  • Ability to perform as a group lead
  • Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative
  • Ability to pre-empt situations and react positively
