Position: Project Engineer

Minimum 10 years related field experience.  Min 8 years in Field Service, Operational or engineering roles.  Completed Competency training

Diploma or degree qualified in mechanical or electrical engineering

Project Engineer:

To assist with the co-ordination of the Company’s technical activities within company, in such a manner that furthers the best interests of company and its customers. To undertake and fulfil the tasks listed under descriptions of duties in an efficient and cost-effective manner. This function may also be assigned to specialized tasks as delegated by the Operations Manager. To ensure full implementation of all local HSE requirements and Company Management Systems within his/her area of responsibility. Oversees all technical aspects of the onshore support operation and acts as ‘front end’ to client in relation to technical and operational support.

Minimum 8 years offshore experience, 3 of which must be in a Senior wellbore clean out specialist Senior role.    

University Degree or College Diploma in Mechanical or Engineering, preferably Oil & Gas related. Can be replaced by a combination of lower education and experience.

Attend all relevant operational and planning Microsoft meetings for client including Peer Reviews, morning calls, CWOPs, rig work instructions, after action reviews, weekly contractors meetings and wash up meetings. Become Focal Point for all Wellbore Productivity activities within BP including Wellbore Cleanup Tools, Chemicals, eventually expanding to include filtration and completion brine. Take ownership of BP Wellbore Cleanup procedures in conjunction with SCE’s while maintaining consistent best practices and implementing lessons learned across all assets. Generate Virtual Hydraulics displacement analysis reports as part of the process of developing operational procedures. Support and design chemical displacements offshore. Brief and Debrief Offshore tool specialists and submit End of Well Report to customer including lessons learned. Adhere to all company and customer Policies and Procedures, Comply with the company and customer Behavioral Safety program regarding safety, health or environmental issues. Provide Workshop Supervisor and Operations Manager with information required to ensure safe and smooth running of operations for BP. Demonstrate incremental value to BP by monitoring equipment movements between onshore and offshore and ensuring timely return of used equipment. Liase with DMC’s and BP-SPS Base to improve logistics. Carry out any other tasks as directed by your immediate manager. Complete all company documentation in a neat and timely manner.

Skills:

High level of intelligence  with ability to conduct advanced engineering calculation such as hydrostatics, dynamics, fluid mechanics, torque, pressure, stress, strain etc as well as being fluent in oilfield terminology and practices. Exceptional computer skills relating to developing technical reports combining Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc, 10 Years experience w/ 3 years experience in a support of project planning / engineering/Supervisory function.  Experience in ALL downhole tools, completions and drilling.
