Eleven ships, including eight dry cargo vessels and three tankers, operate under the Azerbaijani flag in the Black Sea and Mediterranean Basins.

According to Report, these ships, consisting of only local specialists, are named after well-known statesmen and cultural figures, districts, and cities.

By the end of this year, the tankers ‘President Heydar Aliyev,’ ‘Kalbajar,’ and ‘Shusha’ will have access to the Caspian Sea, the Baltic and the North Sea.

President Ilham Aliyev has attended the commissioning of the ‘Kalbajar’ oil tanker at the Baku Shipyard. The construction of this oil tanker began at the Baku Shipyard two years ago at the request of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company. At the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, the tanker was renamed Kalbajar.
