Turkmenistan will privatize the facilities of “Turkmengaz”

At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on September 3, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic, Banking and International Financial Organizations Serdar Berdimuhamedov reported on the progress of privatization of state-owned companies.

The Ministry of Finance and Economy, together with sectoral ministries, hakimliks of the velayats, carried out an analysis of state-owned enterprises and facilities subject to denationalization and privatization, the TDH state news agency reported.

The list of objects to be privatized through competitive bidding includes: five objects of the State Concern “Turkmengaz”, as well as one – the State Concern “Turkmenhimiya”.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that these measures are aimed at “a gradual transition to market relations, the introduction of effective methods of management, as well as denationalization of facilities”, and instructed to analyze the feasibility of the state objects proposed for privatization.
