Sakhalin Energy fully resumed the production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) at the Sakhalin-2 project after the completion of a planned shutdown. This was said in a statement.

In July, Sakhalin Energy carried out the first complete technological shutdown of the entire gas infrastructure of the project in 12 years for repair and diagnostic work.

Sakhalin – 2 is the first liquefied natural gas plant in Russia. It was launched in 2009. The first two technological lines allow producing about 11.6 million tons of LNG per year.

The operator of the project is Sakhalin Energy, in which Gazprom owns 50% plus one share, Shell – 27.5% minus one share, Mitsui & Co. Ltd – 12.5%, Mitsubishi Corporation – 10%.
