The USA strongly support signed Memorandum of Understanding between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan on joint exploration and development of Dostluk Field in the Caspian Sea. Azeri website Report informs that this is mentioned in congratulation cable of of President of the USA Joseph Biden addressed to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the Day of Republic observed on May 28.
“The United States of America strongly support the input of Azerbaijan to energy diversification of Europe by opening of the Southern Gas Corridor last year and signed Memorandum of Understanding on joint exploration and development of the Caspian field”, – the message says.
Joseph Biden has also conveyed his best wishes to the people of Azerbaijan.
The West sees joint Turkmen – Azeri development of oil and gas deposit as the first step toward implementation of the project of transportation of Turkmen gas to Europe via Sothern Gas Corridor.
