Turkmen Customs Receives Equipment For Exchange of Preliminary Customs Information

The new equipment will be used for the exchange of preliminary customs information.

The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime’s (UNODC) Regional Office for Central Asia within the framework of the UNODC and World Customs Organization’s (WCO) Container Control Program (CCP) held online meeting on Wednesday.

The meeting was attended by the head of the UNODC Regional Office for Central Asia Ashita Mittal, CCP Regional Coordinator Batyr Gelidyev and CCP National Coordinator Chary Atayev, the Turkmen State Customs Service reports in its official website.

The meeting participants discussed future cooperation within the framework of CCP. The online event also featured the ceremony for the transfer of equipment for preliminary customs information to the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.

The new equipment will be used for the exchange of preliminary customs information, which should serve not only for the benefit of the development of economic relations in Turkmenistan, but also for all countries in the region, according to the report.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue mutually beneficial relations.
