First China-Azerbaijan container train of 2021 arrives in Baku

The first China-Azerbaijan container block train of 2021 has arrived in Baku, ADY Container LLC, a subsidiary of Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) told Report.

The mixed freight train covered the distance from Qingdao, China, to Baku in 15 days. The block train consists of 50 containers, each 40 feet long.

The containers were delivered from the port of Aktau in Kazakhstan to the port of Alat by the feeder ship Beket Ata, operated by ADY Container. 15 of the containers will be sent to the Georgian capital Tbilisi.

The project was implemented in cooperation with KTZ Express, ADY Container LLC, and GR Logistics and Terminals, members of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Consortium.

By the end of this year, ADY Container plans to transport up to 50 container block trains on the China-Azerbaijan route.
