Job Capsule:
Under broad direction, provides well site service to customers of Baroid. Utilizes knowledge of company products and services in conjunction with experience in drilling fluid technology to optimize service quality. Based on interpreted results of routine and specialized testing, provides technical guidance of Baroid’s customized engineered fluids to maximize wellbore value. Complies with health, safety and environmental regulations in all aspects of job performance. Ensures that an adequate inventory of palletized and bulk products are available at the rig site, based on the fluid program and anticipated conditions. Tracks material usage and maintains record of same for inventory and billing purposes. Maintains good working relationship with operator’s representative and rig personnel, and assists the operator’s representative in specific operations planning and drilling operation optimization. Assists his Baroid office in well planning and business delivery activities, reviews well recaps for accuracy and capture of lessons learned, and takes an active role in mentoring Field Service Representatives. Skills are typically acquired through completion of undergraduate degree and completion of 10 weeks of formal training in colloidal and general chemistry, volume and hydraulics calculations, routine and specialized testing. This position typically has 5 years field experience and must participate in Baroid’s Competency program. Must possess good communication skills, arithmetic, recording skills, data entry and interpretation. Must be able to teach and mentor Field Service Representatives.
Job Roles:
Essential Function/Responsibilities
• Communicate recommendations and potential issues to well site personnel, Technical Professional and relief.
• Manages data acquisition and interpretation through Baroid’s software suite
• Maintains accurate inventory records, ensures that billing of products and services is done in a timely manner and capitalizes on sales opportunities
• Maintains current knowledge of all products and completes tasks related to environmental compliance applicable to geographical area
• Performs Drilling Fluids testing and evaluation in a safe and timely manner, performs equipment calibrations as required and initiates corrective measures as necessary
• Works closely with Tech Professional and PDC in evaluating the staff, succession planning and be willing to fill in for the respective roles as needed
• Completes required level of post-well evaluation on time and meets with operator’s management in concord with NWA geographical area office personnel to address issues, lessons learned and/or recommendations for future work
• Mentors Fluids Field Service Representatives I, II and III in geographical area
• Demonstrates a willingness to work in other geographical areas either through transfer or temporary assignment

Education, Professional Licensure, and Experience:
• Completion of an undergraduate degree is required
• Completion of 10 weeks of formal training in colloidal and general chemistry, volume and hydraulics calculations, routine and specialized testing.
• Minimum of 5 years field experience as a Field Service Representative, and participated in applicable Field Service Representative III competencies
Motor Vehicle Licensure:
• Operation of a motor vehicle is an essential function of this job? Yes

– Non-commercial licensure: A valid license to drive non-commercial motor vehicles is required.
Other Experience:
Equivalency exam or documentation of graduation from MI SWACO or Baker Hughes Drilling Fluids Technology training
Role Specific Knowledge:
• Must have met the minimum competency requirements for the Field Service Representative III
• Must participate in Baroid’s Competency program
• Must possess good communication skills, arithmetic, recording skills, data entry and interpretation
• Must be able to teach and mentor Field Service Representatives
• Liaises with technical personnel to ensure that lessons learned, concerns and rig capabilities are transferred to new well program or problem solving.
• The ability to critically review and assess a drilling fluids and/or completions fluids program/well plan.
• Demonstrate full knowledge and understanding of the drilling fluids and/or completions fluids program and all key logistical, reporting and HSE issues.
• Demonstrate the ability on arrival at location to introduce them self to operator and drilling personnel as a competent, proactive leader of high value to the operation.
• Demonstrate the ability on arrival at location to introduce them self to site safety personnel. Attend all induction(s) available or carries out independent orientation to ensure full familiarity with all escape routes and well site HSE procedures and protocols.
• Interact with customer representative to ensure complete comprehension and possession of current versions of fluid program. Ascertain and communicate any alterations or procedure changes to appropriate supervisor(s).
• Ensure receipt, inspection and setting up of all necessary test equipment, including verification of certification.
• Ability to implement and communicate an efficient Fluids plan that includes HSE, logistics, personnel considerations, equipment considerations and interpretations or deviations from the Fluids Well program.
• Exhibit through Baroid software suite and company/customer required documentation, the maintenance of accurate records for the purpose of accounting, personnel/company development and future work reference.
• Ability to analyze total well performance data compared to performance benchmarks capturing lessons learned and best practices.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Baroid software, in particular DFG, and be able to generate necessary output and graphing to support drilling operations.
• Ability to transfer advanced knowledge to other engineers, Tech Professionals, and operator personnel.
• Exhibiting the ability to work in an offshore environment is highly recommended
Autonomy of Job:
Under broad direction: supervision received is usually centered around job results or methodologies used such as problem solving approaches, establishing broad parameters for projects, work organization, progress reports, etc. There may be occasional “General” or even “Direct” supervision.
Supervisory Responsibility of Job:
Performs own work and provides assistance to others as directed
Working Conditions:
Physical activity is normally required on the job, or requires exposure to the elements or job related hazards but not on a routine basis. Hazards are not severe.
