Fourteen more Kazakh nationals stuck in Azerbaijan by border closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic returned homeland today.

Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company’s “Professor Gul” ferry evacuated the citizens. Upon departure, the passengers passed COVID-19 tests at the Baku Port and all tested negative for the virus, informs Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC.

Along with them, one Russian and 11 Azerbaijani nationals with the right to reside in Kazakhstan were transported to the country.

Since May 13 of this year, new rules on crossing the border during quarantine came into force in Kazakhstan, based on which the local port of Kuryk resumed the admission of local and foreign citizens having permission to reside in the country.

In the last two months, a total of 109 Kazakh citizens and 67 foreigners were departed from Baku Port.
