Within the framework of Corporate Social Responsibility, Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) provided financial support to students of the Faculty of Law of the Baku State University for participation in the prestigious European law competition – Telders International Law Moot Court Competition.

The team consisting of III and IV course students of the English section of the BSU Law faculty was the first to represent Azerbaijan at the international competition. During five months, 31 teams participating at the competition had prepared their cases. As a result of evaluation, the applicant memorial of BSU students took 9th place, and respondent memorial – 13th place. According to the overall scores, the national team of Azerbaijan was at the 12th place.

To prevent the spread of a new type of coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), the stage of oral arguments was canceled.

Telders International Law Moot Court Competition is a model of the International Court of Justice of the United Nations (UN). The competition has been held annually since 1977 in The Hague, the Netherlands. The purpose of the competition is the development of analytical and practical skills of student lawyers in the field of international law.

Members of the team expressed their gratitude to the leadership of BSU and their teachers for the support, as well as to ASCO for covering all expenses.

It should be noted that ASCO constantly implements various projects related to science and education. Support in this area is one of the most important parts of the company’s CSR strategy. One of the main priorities of the company is the stimulation of youth interested in science and education and supporting their formation as worthy citizens of our country.
