This year’s season of international exhibitions which are annually organised by Iteca Caspian in Azerbaijan will kick off in April. In total, there is a plan to host 16 exhibitions and 1 conference during the year. Moreover, an important event at this year’s calendar will be the 25th anniversary of the first specialized exhibition and conference in Azerbaijan, Caspian Oil and Gas.

Exhibitions will be held in Baku Expo Center with the support of government industry agencies. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Ilham Aliyev’s attendance at a number of the annual exhibitions demonstrates the importance of the events to the country’s economy. The international status of events is reinforced by membership in the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), where exhibitions annually undergo a complete audit against the declared statistical data and compliance with the required level of organisation, after which the exhibition is assigned a quality mark. Major trade fairs are supported by international organisations.

On April 5, the 17th Azerbaijan International Travel and Tourism Fair, AITF 2018 and the 12th Caucasus International Hospitality Exhibition, HOREX Caucasus 2018 will open this year’s exhibition season.

AITF 2018 will present various tourist destinations, airlines, hotel chains and tourism services. From the 29th of May to 1st June, oil and gas industry professionals will focus their attention on the 25th Anniversary International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference, the largest energy event in the Caspian region. Over the years, this first specialized exhibition of Azerbaijan has turned into the main industry forum which annually brings together leading experts and leaders of the oil industry from around the world. This anniversary, marked with a series of events with Caspian Oil and Gas, falls on a significant date – it is 95 years since the birth of Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s National Leader who was at the forefront of the event’s foundation. The annual participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E. Ilham Aliyev in the exhibition’s opening ceremony testifies to its high status. Throughout the years, Caspian Oil and Gas has been supported by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and SOCAR. This year’s anniversary exhibition will bring together over 250 exhibitors. For now, more than 70% of the exhibition space has already been occupied by world-famous companies that are regular participants of the exhibition. Despite its 25 year-long run, the traditional Caspian Oil and Gas conference, which annually accompanies the exhibition, has remained the focus of attention of the major oil and gas players of the world. Over 30 delegates are expected to attend the conference which will be held at Fairmont Baku Hotel from the 30th to the 31st of May. This year’s theme of the plenary session at the conference will be the “Global and economic outlook in oil and gas industry – talking about the cost of oil and opportunities in a downturned environment”.

A wide range of equipment and services, including energy and power engineering, alternative energy sources, energy saving and energy efficiency, cabling and wiring products and lighting will be presented at the 8th Caspian International Power and Alternative Energy Caspian Power 2018.

The spring season will end with three transport exhibitions – the 17th Caspian International Transport, Transit and Logistics Transcaspian/Translogistica, the 8th Caspian International Road Infrastructure and Public Transport Road & Traffic and the 5th Anniversary Caspian International Boat and Yacht Show CIBS 2018. Baku Expo Centre is the permanent venue for all exhibitions, where a number of services will be provided for the convenience of exhibitors and visitors. Participants will have a free access to the Business and Press Centre, and small cafes and restaurants, including a charging station for mobile phones will also be available at Baku Expo Center.

This year, the Organisers will introduce some registration innovations for visitors at the BakuBuild Azerbaijan exhibition for the first time; one of these innovations will be the list of recommended exhibitors for registered visitors. The list of recommended exhibitors will be prepared based on the visitor’s business profile. This convenient and free service will considerably save the time you spend to find companies at the exhibition; you will now be able to spend this time for business negotiations with potential partners more efficiently.

The exhibitions held in Azerbaijan have long become a platform for comprehensive business communications, at which international conferences, workshops and face-to-face meetings, so-called “Exhibitions +”, are accompanying the events. And this year will be no exception; each exhibition will feature thematic conferences and B2B meetings with the participation of local and foreign entrepreneurs. Here you will be able to meet with experts, representatives of ministries, heads of trade unions and associations, and journalists. B2B meetings between exhibitors and local manufacturers and distributors will serve as an additional effective business platform for direct meetings and negotiations among the market players, which can result in effective partnerships, distribution networks and the introduction of new types of goods and services into the local market. Also, the tradition of holding business breakfasts for participants long before the start of exhibitions will continue to help to maximise the use of all the resources available at the exhibitions.

It is the Organisers’ recommendation to use online registration more actively; requiring only a few minutes, this process significantly saves time when registering at Baku Expo Centre. Early registration will also allow you to quickly get a list of participants and collect information both on exhibitions and related business events. This year, the websites of the exhibitions feature the Visitor’s Account which allows you to get more detailed information about the exhibitors and the products they offer. Please visit http://sea-news.az/iteca.az/ru-video.htm to watch a short video about the step-by-step instruction on electronic registration.

So, the next season of exhibitions will create excellent opportunities for professionals and experts of all industries to obtain a lot of relevant and useful information and find new business niches and meet reliable partners, while motivating and attracting new companies to the Caspian region in a short period of time. It will also provide opportunities for strengthening business relations between local entrepreneurs and private sector representatives of other participating countries, while helping to promote local products in foreign markets and to meet with potential investors.
