Volume of gas in SOCAR storages revealed

    Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR pumped 547 million cubic meters of gas to its underground gas storage facilities from the beginning of the season of pumping gas till June 1, SOCAR reported.

    There are two underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan – Kalmaz and Garadagh.

    The amount of gas stored in Garadagh stood at 255.5 million cubic meters ,while 291.5 million cubic meters – Kalmaz gas storage.

    “Currently, the volumes of active gas in the country’s underground gas storage facilities exceed 1.33 billion cubic meters,” the report said.

    The underground gas storage facilities of the country allow storing over 3.5 billion cubic meters of gas in them.

    Azerbaijan’s state energy company SOCAR, which is keen on expanding operations in the retail oil products market abroad, is involved in exploring oil and gas fields, producing, processing, and transporting oil, gas, and gas condensate, marketing petroleum and petrochemical products in the domestic and international markets, and supplying natural gas to industry and the public in Azerbaijan.
