Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy has been accredited

    Accreditation of the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy was carried out in accordance with the “Rules of accreditation of Educational Institutions”, approved by Order No. 167 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan on September 28, 2010, and “Criterias establishing the conformity of the activity of the educational institution to the requirements of state standards”, approved by the order of the Ministry of Education of the Azerbaijan Republic of 24.04.2011 № 656. Accreditation Commission, established by the order of the Licensing of accreditation and nostrification of the Ministry of Education of 01.01.2017 № 01,which is functioning since February of 2017, has prepared the Final report on the results of the accreditation.

    The report emphasizes that the Marine Academy, being one of the centers of the Azerbaijan Science of Shipping, plays an important role in conducting scientific research, developing normative documents, and training scientific and pedagogical personnel in this field. Over the entire period of its activity, the Academy has trained highly qualified specialists and scientific cadres not only for the republic, but also for many foreign countries and has established close cooperation with influential research centers of the world, as well as with international organizations. At present, work is under way to expand cooperation further.

    According to the final decision of the Accreditation Commission, the 5-year activity of the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy meets the requirements of the “State Education Standards”.

    It should be noted that the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy was established in 1996 and for the first time in 20 years of its activity it has been successfully accredited by the Ministry of Education.
