Pakistan’s Adviser to Prime Minister for Commerce and Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost during a meeting discussed ways to increase bilateral trade, Trend reports referring to IRNA.
Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation to take the bilateral trade volume to $5 billion within next five years.
Iranian envoy on the occasion said that trade between the two countries can be further strengthened by continued engagement of the business communities of Iran and Pakistan.
He urged the Pakistani authorities to complete their work regarding opening of two new border points between the two countries so that the people of Iran and Pakistan can be given more facilities.
Mehdi Honardoost again expressed Iran’s interest in joining China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and said that Iran is willing to give rail and road facilities to Pakistan to connect the Central Asian states.
Both countries also discussed upcoming 21st Iran-Pakistan joint economic commission and 8th meeting of Iran-Pakistan trade ministers to be held in Islamabad.
