In Kazakhstan, a MAZ truck collided with a diesel locomotive at a railway crossing along the access line to the Aktau sea port. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Sea-news.az reports citing the national railway company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTJ), that the accident occurred on November 2 at an unguarded and unregulated railway crossing.
The driver of the truck failed to yield the right-of-way to the light locomotive, which was transiting without railcars at a speed of approximately 5 km/h. The collision resulted in severe technical damage to the locomotive.
Preliminary findings indicate that the traffic accident was caused by the truck driver’s failure to observe railway crossing regulations. Transport police have been notified of the incident.
