Iran has officially designated the United Kingdom’s Royal Navy and Royal Air Force as terrorist organizations. Additionally, the UK’s Secret Intelligence Service, MI6, has been classified as a hostile group.
Sea-news.az reports on the matter, citing TASS.
According to a statement from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, MI6 is categorized as a hostile group under the law “On stiffening penalties for espionage and cooperation with Israel and hostile states against national security”.
The document states that these measures were adopted following a resolution by the Supreme National Security Council due to London’s hostile activities over the past year, including granting access to military bases and facilities under British jurisdiction during the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran.
The decision also took into account the UK’s listing of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a state threat/terrorist entity on July 13.
According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, in response to the designation of the IRGC as a terrorist entity, the UK Royal Navy and Royal Air Force have been formally declared terrorist organizations under relevant countermeasure legislation.
