Sea-news.az recalls that this professional holiday was established by a decree signed by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on October 9, 2008.

As one of the vital sectors of the country’s economy, agriculture plays a crucial role in ensuring food security, fostering regional development, and driving employment. Grain growing, cotton farming, viticulture, sericulture, fruit growing, and vegetable farming serve as key pillars of the domestic agrarian sector.

In recent years, continuous measures have been implemented to introduce modern agricultural technologies, upgrade irrigation networks, expand state support mechanisms for farmers, and enhance crop yields.

On this day, acknowledging the dedication and hard work of farmers, landowners, agronomists, and all sector specialists contributing to agricultural development holds special significance.
