The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have warned that vessels deviating from established maritime routes and violating safety regulations in the Strait of Hormuz will face severe risks.

Sea-news.az reports citing Press TV, that this statement was made by Ali Abdollahi, Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces.

According to him, ships that stray from designated corridors or fail to comply with Iran’s relevant maritime procedures could sustain serious damage.

A. Abdollahi also noted that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) maintains strict operational control over the Gulf, its islands, and the Strait of Hormuz. He emphasized that the Iranian Armed Forces remain on high alert across the coastal zones of the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Gulf of Oman.

The Iranian commander further expressed disagreement with statements from U.S. officials claiming that the Strait of Hormuz remains fully open and unhindered for commercial navigation.
