United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that US Naval forces have intercepted (redirected) 138 commercial vessels bound for or departing from Iranian ports since the restoration of the naval blockade on Iran.

Sea-news.az reports citing Interfax news agency, that CENTCOM commander Admiral Brad Cooper stated the naval blockade has prevented Iran from exporting at least $25 billion worth of crude oil.

The admiral emphasized that control over the Strait of Hormuz is maintained not by Iran, but by the United States and its regional partners.

Cooper also noted that over the past seven days, the US military helped partner nations in the Persian Gulf safely transport more than 100 million barrels of crude oil through the Strait of Hormuz.
