“Strait of Hormuz Will Not Reopen Until US Accepts Seven Conditions”

The Strait of Hormuz will not reopen to maritime traffic until the United States government fully accepts all seven conditions presented by Tehran.

Sea-news.az reports Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, stated this during an interview with Press TV.

Rezaei noted that Washington attempted to reach out to Tehran through intermediaries in Iraq, Pakistan, and Qatar. He explained that while the US accepted some of Iran’s proposed terms, its position on the remaining conditions remained ambiguous, leading Tehran to consider the overall response inadequate. He further emphasized that each time Iran engaged in negotiations with the US, the country faced military strikes, which Tehran regards as a clear betrayal by Washington.

Rezaei affirmed that Iran will maintain control over the Strait of Hormuz and secure economic benefits from it, stressing that without Iranian oversight, the security of the entire Persian Gulf would remain threatened.

It should be recalled that the US and Israel initiated strikes on targets in Iran on February 28, prompting retaliatory strikes from Iran. Although a memorandum to halt hostilities was signed in mid-June, exchanges of military strikes later resumed, leaving the conflict unresolved.
