Iranian authorities will treat any vessel attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz with its navigation and identification systems turned off as a hostile entity.

Sea-news.az reports the statement was issued by the press service of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy.

The IRGC Navy warned that non-compliant vessels will face “decisive punishment.” The press service added that since October 10, three tankers violating Iran’s transit regulations have struck sea mines, resulting in onboard fires.
