A tanker exiting the Strait of Hormuz has been struck on its port side by an unknown projectile.
Sea-news.az reports the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported the event based on information from the vessel’s Company Security Officer (CSO).
UKMTO confirmed that all crew members are safe and no environmental damage or oil spill has occurred. Relevant authorities are investigating the incident, and vessels transiting the area are advised to exercise extreme caution.
This follows an incident yesterday in the Strait of Hormuz where an oil tanker attempting to transit without authorization struck a sea mine, causing a fire on board.
