Today marks six years since the second missile attack launched on the city of Ganja by Armenian forces during the Patriotic War.

Sea-news.az recalls that on October 5, 2020, information regarding the missile shelling of Ganja was released by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.

At around 9:00 PM, a missile fired from the territory of Armenia struck near the “Grand Qafqaz” Commercial Complex in Ganja, rendering the building completely unusable due to the force of the explosion.

On the same day, a statement issued by the Press Service of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan noted that at approximately 9:00 PM on October 5, 2020, Armenian armed forces opened fire using heavy artillery, targeting various districts of Ganja with artillery shells. As a result of decisive measures taken by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, the attack attempts of the Armenian armed formations were repelled.

It should be noted that during the Second Karabakh War, Armenian armed forces attacked the city of Ganja a total of five times—on October 4, 5, 8, 11, and 17—using missiles and heavy artillery.

Those attacks resulted in 26 fatalities and 175 injuries, alongside extensive damage inflicted on civilian infrastructure and vehicles across the city.
